The Mixco Viejo Ruins are the last city of Pocomans who fight against the conquers and the Kaqchikels,, this city was created at the top of the mountains. This Maya City was a fort for them in the fight against the Quichés before the Spanish Conquers come to Guatemala.
The tour starts at Guatemala City or Antigua Guatemala, after a two-hour drive to El Quiché where the old city hides in the mountains. Once we are there we start the guided tour around all the Mixco Viejo City with a full explanation of how everything work before and after the Spanish conquest. We will do lunch inside the city over the top of a pyramid, so we can enjoy the high-view over the mountains. After we finish the guided tour around Mixco Viejo, we drive back to Guatemala City or Antigua Guatemala.
